While the Genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan may have dropped off the front pages and the headlines of the news media, the situation there is still dire for the refugees their. Then last week on the news was a report on the radio that the woman who had fled to Chad and were living in the refugee camps there were subjected to systematic rape.
I can not begin to imagine what it must feel like to take flight from danger, where you know you are at risk of rape and murder to find yourself exploited and abused in your place of sanctuary. For these women and children even the presence of UN troops is not easing their suffering.
I just wish that the media would take much more notice of what is really going on in the world.
